To commemorate 100 years since the start of the First World War, people across the UK turned off their lights. Coinciding with this, Ryoji Ikeda’s “spectra” was installed by artangel at Victoria Tower Gardens, a single light that would remain shining. The beam is visible all over London and beyond. Here is a series of photos to show the installation close up for those who cannot make it to the site. All photos were taken by @danbarker.

And here is a short video, shot from the base of the installation, to give an idea of the sound.

Thanks to Artangel for setting it up.
